Let’s start by looking at the different ways you can launch the Outlook program. Typically, you’ll be able to open Outlook from a couple of different areas.
Launching Outlook from an Icon on the Desktop
Double-Click the Microsoft Outlook 2007 Icon (Word will launch)
Launching Outlook from the Start Menu
Click Microsoft Office
Click Microsoft Outlook 2007 (Outlook will launch)
Launching Outlook from the Quick Launch Toolbar
Click the Microsoft Outlook 2007 Icon (Word will launch)
Depending on where you are when you access Outlook, you may be asked to log-in with a user name and possibly a password. Some users won’t be asked for a log-in name at all.
If you are asked for a log-in name, you’ll be prompted with a box like this:

Simply choose your login name from the list and click OK.
No matter which method you use to open Outlook, you will always be greeted with your Inbox, by default.
