Even the best of us run into errors now and then when using Excel. And, usually they look something like this:
But, by using the Trace Errors command, you can quickly see where the formula is grabbing its arguments. Often, just being able to visually see what cells a formula is referencing is enough to help you rectify the problem.
Tracing Errors Using the Ribbon
Click any cell containing a formula with errors
Click the Error Checking drop-down command in the Formula Auditing group on the Formula tab
Choose Trace Error
Removing Dependent Tracers
Click the Remove Arrows command in the Formula Auditing group on the Formula tab
