Word 2007: Inserting Watermarks

Watermarks are text or pictures that appear behind your text. For instance, a common watermark looks like stamp and can read “Confidential” or “Draft.” When viewing your document, you’ll only be able to see watermarks in Print Layout view and Print Preview. And, of course, the watermark will appear on a printed document.

In addition to text, you can use graphics as watermarks, such as a company logo. But, you’ll want to make sure the image is lightened using the washout feature so that it doesn’t interfere with document text.
