Word 2007: Inserting Comments

Comments are a great way to add reminders about your document text. Comments act like sticky notes that contain information about your text.

All of the comment-related commands that you’ll need to effectively work with comments can be found in the Comments group on the Review tab.

Inserting & Editing Comments

Once you decide which text you need to flag with notes, getting those notes attached is a piece of cake.

Inserting A Comment Using the Ribbon

     
  1. Select the text that will contain the comment
     
  2.  
  3.  Click the New Comment command in the Comments group on the Review tab
     
  4.  
  5. Enter your comment text

Editing A Comment

     
  1. Select the comment
     
  2.  
  3. Make your edits to the comment
     

Deleting Comments

Comments are in no way, shape or form permanent. And, they are just as easy to remove as they are to insert.

Deleting A Comment Using the Ribbon

     
  1. Select the comment
     
  2.  
  3.  Click the Delete command in the Comments group on the Review tab
     

Deleting A Comment Using the Shortcut Menu

     
  1. Right-click the comment
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Delete Comment from the Shortcut Menu
