Word 2007: Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar

quickAccessToolbarBy default, the Quick Access Toolbar contains only three buttons: Save, Undo and Redo. That’s because, this toolbar is intended to store only those commands that you use on a consistent basis.

But, the Quick Access Toolbar is fully customizable – both in location and commands.

Moving the Quick Access Toolbar

The Quick Access Toolbar can be located in one of two places. You can either leave it in the upper-left corner of your window (where it is located by default) or below the Ribbon.

1.       Click the Customize button () at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar

2.       Choose Show Below the Ribbon

Adding A Command to the Quick Access Toolbar Using the Ribbon

1.       Right-click any command in any group on the Ribbon

2.       Choose Add to Quick Access Toolbar

Removing A Command from the Quick Access Toolbar

1.       Right-click any command on the Quick Access Toolbar

2.       Choose Remove from Quick Access Toolbar



 

Adding A Command to the Quick Access Toolbar Using Word Options

1.       Open the Office Menu

2.       Click Word Options

3.       Click Customize

4.       Choose a command and click Add

5.       When you’re finished adding commands, click OK
