Word 2003: Working with a Split View

Activating the Split view is a great tool when working with multiple page documents because it allows you to view two different areas of your document simultaneously.

Users can often accidentally jump into a split screen view when scrolling. At the top of the vertical scroll bar, there’s a tiny split screen jump button ().

Enabling Split Screen View Using the Menu Bar

     
  1. Choose Window from the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Split
     
  4.  
  5. Position the split line, then click once

  1. Double-click the Split button at the top of the vertical scroll bar

  1. Choose Window from the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Remove Split

  1. Double-click the Split line just above the ruler at the split line in the middle of your window
