Word 2003: Page Borders & Page Backgrounds

Just like adding borders and shading to your text can add visual interest, so can adding a document background or page border.

Page Borders

Adding a Page Border
     
  1. Click inside the page you want to apply the border to
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Format from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Borders and Shading…
     
  6.  
  7. Click the Page Border tab

    5.   Set your border settings and click OK

Removing a Page Border
     
  1. Click inside the page you want to remove the border from
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Format from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Borders and Shading…
     
  6.  
  7. Click the Page Border tab
     
  8.  
  9. Choose None under Setting and click OK
     

Page Backgrounds

Adding a Page Background
     
  1. Click inside the page you want to apply the border to
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Format from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Background
     
  6.  
  7. Choose a Color
     
Removing a Page Background
     
  1. Click inside the page you want to apply the border to
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Format from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Background
     
  6.  
  7. Choose No Fill
