Word 2003: Inserting & Deleting Columns and Rows

No matter how much pre-planning you do, you’ll invariably need to either insert more rows or columns or remove existing rows or columns.

Inserting Rows

You can use the Shortcut menu or the Menu bar when inserting rows.

Inserting Rows Using the Menu Bar
     
  1. Select a row in an existing table
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Table: Insert from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose the Rows Above or Rows Below command
     
Inserting Rows Using the Shortcut Menu
     
  1. Select a row in an existing table
     
  2.  
  3. Right-click the selected row
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Insert Rows from the Shortcut menu
     

Deleting Rows

You can use with the Shortcut menu, Keyboard or the Menu bar when deleting rows.

Deleting Rows Using the Menu Bar
     
  1. Select a row in an existing table
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Table: Delete from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Rows

  5. Choose Delete Rows from the Shortcut menu

Inserting Columns

You can use the Shortcut menu or the Menu bar when inserting columns.

  1. Select a column in an existing table
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Table: Insert from the Menu bar
     
  4.  
  5. Choose the Columns to the Left or Columns to the Right command
