Word 2003: Changing Margins & Page Orientation

While the default margins and page orientation are often sufficient for the majority of documents, it’s nice to have the option of modifying them to suit your individual needs.

Page Orientation

Page Orientation can only be one of two choices – either Portrait or Landscape. Portrait prints Short Side x Long Side (i.e. 8.5 x 11). Landscape print Long Side x Short Side (i.e. 11 x 8.5).

With page orientation, you only have two options: Portrait and Landscape.

     
  1. Choose File from the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Page Setup…

    3.       Click your desired Orientation

    4.       Click OK



Margins

Margins refer to the amount of white space that appears between your text and the edge of your page while Page Orientation can only be one of two choices – either Portrait or Landscape.

     
  1. Choose File from the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Page Setup…
     
  4.  
  5. Set your Top, Bottom, Left and Right margins
     
  6.  
  7. Click OK
