PowerPoint 2007: Using the Chart Tab

Immediately after you create your chart, you can modify it using the three contextual tabs that appear simply because the new chart is selected. 

The first contextual tab is the Chart Design tab which contains galleries that help you change the chart layout and chart type as well as a gallery of chart styles from which to choose. This tab contains groups for Type, Data, Chart Layouts and Chart Styles.

The next contextual tab is the Chart Layout tab which contains commands for adding and modifying the chart title, data labels and trendlines. This tab contains groups for Properties, Shapes, Labels, Axes, Background and Analysis.

Finally, the third contextual tab is the Chart Format tab which contains commands changing the look of the chart plot area and shape arranging. This tab contains groups for the current selection, Shape Styles, WordArt Styles, Arrange and Size.
