Outlook 2007: Formatting Notes

Formatting comes in all different shapes and sizes. In this lesson, we’ll look at changing the color of individual notes (which helps in categorizing your notes) and changing the size of the notes when they are opened.

Using Color Categories

But, in order for color categories to work for you, you should name the categories with meaningful names.

Renaming Categories

     
  1. Open an existing note
     
  2.  
  3. Click the Note Icon in the upper-left corner of the open note
     
  4.  
  5. Choose Categorize: All Categories…

    4.       Select a category to rename

    5.       Click Rename

    6.       Type the new category name

    7.       Press [Enter]

    8.       Repeat steps 5-9 for all categories you want to rename

    9.       Click OK

Assigning Categories to Notes

By changing the colors of your notes, you can create color categories to differentiate one note from another.

     
  1. Open an existing note
     
  2.  
  3. Click the Note Icon in the upper-left corner of the open note
     
  4.  
  5. Choose a Category 
     

Changing Note Size

When working with Note size, you can change the size of an individual note or for all new notes by changing the default setting.

  1. Open an exiting note
     
  2.  
  3. Drag the lower-right corner of the note to the desired size
     

Changing the Default Note Size

     
  1. Choose Tools: Options from the Menu Bar
     
  2.  
  3.  Click the Note Options button on the Preferences tab

    3.       Set the Note size

    4.       Click OK
