Outlook 2003: Flagging Messages

Flags are great visual reminders of things in Outlook that you need to follow up on. And, flags can be associated with dates, just like tasks.

Adding Flag to a Message

     
  1. Open an e-mail message that you want to flag
     
  2.  
  3. Choose the Follow Up command on the E-mail Standard toolbar

   3.      Set the flag type, due date and optional reminder

   4.      Click OK

Adding a Quick Click Flag

To add a follow-up flag even faster, right-click the flag to the right of any e-mail message and choose the flag you want to add.

Completing & Clearing a Flag

Once you’ve started to use flags for follow-ups, you’ll probably also need to mark follow-ups as complete. You can remove a flag by either marking it as complete or simply clearing it.

Removing a Flag

     
  1. Right-click the flag in the Flag Status column
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Clear Flag

  3. Choose Flag Complete
