Outlook 2003: Adding a Contact from an E-mail Message

Quite often, I receive an e-mail from someone I’d like to add to my Contact List. This way, I don’t have to hang on to the original e-mail just to keep their e-mail address.

And, Outlook offers a tremendously easy way to taking the e-mail address of an e-mail sender and quickly creating a contact.

  1. Open the e-mail from the sender you want to add to your Contact List

  2.
  3. Right-click the sender’s name (at the top of the e-mail message)

  4.
  5. Choose Add to Outlook Contacts from the Shortcut menu

  6.
  7. Make any changes to the Contact

  8.
  9. Choose the Save & Close command on the Contact Standard toolbar
