Excel 2007: Use Expressions in Conditional Formatting

It’s always nice to be able to apply your knowledge of formulas to other areas. In this lesson, you’ll see how to use a formula as the criteria for your conditional formatting.

     
  1. Select a cell or a range of cells
     
  2.  
  3. Click the Conditional Formatting command in the Styles group on the Home tab
     
  4.  
  5. Choose More Rules…

    4.       Choose Use a formula to determine which cells to format

    5.       Enter your formula

    6.       Set your format

    7.       Click OK
