Excel 2003: Adding Headers & Footers

Headers and footers can be customized in the same Page Layout Dialog box you use when modifying your worksheet margins and page orientation.

Adding a Predefined Header or Footer

     
  1. Click File on the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Page Setup…
     
  4.  
  5. Click the Header/Footer tab

   4.      Under Header, click the drop-down arrow and choose a preformatted header

   5.      Under Footer, click the drop-down arrow and choose a preformatted footer

   6.      Click OK



Adding a Custom Header or Footer

     
  1. Click File on the Menu bar
     
  2.  
  3. Choose Page Setup…
     
  4.  
  5. Click the Header/Footer tab
     
  6.  
  7. Click the Custom Header (or Custom Footer) button

   5.      Use the toolbar to format text and add predefined elements such as page numbers and worksheet data (or insert a  company logo using the Insert Image button)

   6.      When you’re finished, click OK

   7.      Click OK to close the Page Setup Dialog box
