Access 2007: Opening & Closing Access Databases

In Access 2007, you can only have one database open at one time. Files can be opened either from the Open Dialog box or from the Most Recently Used File List.

From the Open Dialog Box, you can access to all of the files currently saved on your computer. But, from the Most Recently Used File List, you only have access to up to 9 of the most recent files you’ve worked with in Access (in fact, 9 is the default number for this option).



Opening Files from the Most Recently Used File List

     
  1. Click the Office Menu icon
  2.  
  3.  Under Recent Documents, click the file you want to open

  1. Click the Office Menu Icon
  2.  
  3.  Choose Open
  4.  
  5.  Navigate to the folder that contains your file
  6.  
  7.  Select your file
  8.  
  9. Click Open
