Access 2007: Creating a Database Using a Wizard

I know you’ve seen all the templates that load with Access 2007 because the Getting Started screen opens each time you launch Access 2007.

Using Preloaded Templates

I’m always amazed at the number of people who don’t take advantage of the wealth of templates Microsoft uploads to their website. And, they’re all free.

Before you start creating something, do yourself a favor and do a quick search to see if anyone else has already created it. Chances are good that what you need has already been created and you can save yourself a ton of time by just downloading someone else’s creation.

Using an Installed Template

     
  1. Open the Office Menu
     
  2.  
  3. Click New
     
  4.  
  5. Under Templates Categories, click Featuring
     
  6.  
  7. Select one of the listed templates
     
  8.  
  9. Enter a File Name
     
  10.  
  11. Click Create
     

Using A Template from Microsoft Office Online

     
  1. Open the Office Menu
     
  2.  
  3. Click New
     
  4.  
  5. Under Microsoft Office Online, select a category
     
  6.  
  7. Select one of the listed templates
     
  8.  
  9. Enter a File Name
     
  10.  
  11. Click Create
