Access 2007: Conditional Formatting

Conditional Formatting allows you to automatically change the formatting of data displayed on individual controls based on the contents of that control. Conditional Formatting works well when you want to highlight specific data. For instance, you may want to highlight all negative numbers with red text.

Each control can store up to three different conditional formats.

 

Applying Conditional Formatting

     
  1. View the form in Layout View
     
  2.  
  3.  Choose the Conditional command in the Font group on the Form Layout Tools Formatting Contextual tab

    3.       Set your condition parameters

    4.       Click Add to add another condition

    5.       Click OK when complete

Deleting Conditional Formatting

     
  1. View the form in Layout View
     
  2.  
  3. Choose the Conditional command in the Font group on the Form Layout Tools Formatting Contextual tab
     
  4.  
  5.  Choose the Delete button

    4.       Select the Condition check box(es) you want to delete

    5.       Click OK
