Access 2007: Common Filters

Access 2007 has common filters built-in that allow you to quickly filter your table or form in place without having to type in complex expressions. Some of these common filters include Equals, Does Not Equal, Begins With, Contains and Between (for Dates).

Applying a Common Filter

     
  1.  Open the Table or Form in Datasheet View you want to filter
  2.  
  3. Click the field heading of the column you want to Filter by
  4.  
  5.  Choose Text Filters or Date Filters or Number Filters
  6.  
  7. Complete the Filter Dialog Box
  8.  
  9.  Click OK

Removing a Common Filter

1.       Click the field heading of the column you want to remove the filter from

2.       Choose Clear Filter From [Field Name]
