Access 2007: Adding & Formatting Labels

Unlike fields, labels are simply text that you add to your form or report to add an explanation. Labels are text-based and are not tied to any underlying field in any table or query. As such, labels are considered unbound controls.

First, we’ll look at adding labels to your form, then we’ll look at formatting those same labels.

Adding Labels

  1. Open the form in Design View

  2.
  3.  Choose the Label command in the Controls group on the Form Design Tools Design Contextual tab

  4.
  5. Drag to draw a label box on your form

  6.
  7. Type your table text

  8.
  9. Click anywhere outside the new label
