Access 2003: Attach a Macro to a Command Button

There’s a great wizard for attaching a macro to a command button, but this task can also be accomplished in Design View using the Event tab on the Property Sheet.

However, before you can attach a macro to a command button, you’ll need to think through when you want the macro to run. For instance, do you want the user to single-click or double-click a button in order to launch the macro? The answer will determine on which event you assign the macro.

     
  1. Open the Form in Design view

  3. Select the command button
     
  4.  
  5. Open the Property Sheet
     
  6.  
  7. View the Event Tab
     
  8.  
  9. Assign the Macro to the appropriate event
     
  10.  
  11. Save the Form
