Some Quick Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 Training Tips
PowerPoint 2007 TRAINING TIP: start page numbering in powerpoint's page setup dialog box
When you add a footer to your slides, they typically begin with the number “1.” But, you can change that in the Page Setup dialog. From the ribbon’s Design tab, click the Page Setup option. Then, on the lower-left corner, set your beginning slide number under “Number slides from:” and click OK.
Now, your slides can start with any number you choose. This works well for slides that will be shown as part of larger presentations that may include elements from many different Office programs. (Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 Training Tips: © KeyStone Learning Systems)
POWERPOINT 2007 TRAINING TIP: customize your grids & guides settings
Both the gridlines and guides can be further customized from the Grid and Guides dialog that pops up when you click the dialog box launcher in the Show group.
In the Grid and Guides dialog, you can set the snap settings and gridline spacing. This is also where you can turn off the smart guides. The smart guides are those lines that pop up when you’re dragging one object near another to show you when the two objects are in line. POWERPOINT 2007 TRAINING TIP: change all slides at the same time
In a couple of different spots in PowerPoint, you might notice the Apply to All option. This is a huge time-saver. For instance, when you find a transition you like, set it up on the ribbon’s Transitions tab, then click the Apply To All option in the Timing group. This copies your applied transition to all slides in the presentation deck.
There’s a similar option in the Format Background dialog that pops up when click the dialog box launcher on the Background group on the ribbon’s Design tab. Use it to transform single-slide changes into full presentation updates. (Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 Training Tips: © KeyStone Learning Systems)
